Master Notes & Bibliography

ACCESS OUR MASTER NOTES & BIBLIOGRAPHY HERE, AT OUR PUBLIC GOOGLE DOCUMENT LINK.

Note From the Editors:

The purpose of this document is, first and foremost, to provide sources for the claims made in the film Enemies Within: The Church, as an attestation to the truth of our documentary. The Master Notes and Bibliography provides additional notes alongside direct sources that verify specific data points, provide historical and contextual material, and direct viewers to original sources (such as videos, articles, etc. which are referenced or displayed in EWTC). Not every citation is an endorsement of the source that is cited; sources are relevant only insofar as they verify the claims made in the film, unless otherwise stated. All notes and citations are time-stamped to match the online edition of the film which can be accessed at www.enemieswithinthechurch.com.

Over the course of the film’s reception, many have inquired about a variety of specific claims. This was expected, due to the nature of documentaries like this one. The subversion of the American Church has reached a shocking height, and it comes as no surprise that some viewers might respond with incredulity. While it is not offensive to our team that some members of our audience might be skeptical, it would be rather tedious to respond to each individual inquiry about EWTC’s claims. This bibliography serves as a one-stop resource which can assist incredulous and skeptical viewers in verifying the testimonies of our narrator, interviewees, graphics, and the rest.

The Master Notes and Bibliography will be updated with more citations, sources, and notes as necessary. If you have further questions, please read the full bibliography, sources, and footnotes carefully to ensure that you have a strong grasp of the material. If you have additional resources, please email us at contactwokepedia@gmail.com.

May Christ be glorified,

1:14: Eric Mason, author of the book Woke Church, is shown to repeatedly scream “Whiteness has caused blindness of heart,” in the beginning of the Enemies Within: The Church film. Woke Preacher Clips provides access to this video clip in the following source.

8:43: On June 29–30, 2010, Opinion Dynamics conducted a scientific national poll which revealed that the Founding Fathers would be unhappy with the conditions of the United States today.

8:59: Per Pastor Cary Gordon, in a recent survey [conducted by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation], 58% of respondents millennials said they did not want free markets in America. They overwhelmingly preferred socialism, fascism, or communism. Marion Smith, executive director of the VCM Foundation, notes that the results of this poll indicate “widespread historical illiteracy in American society regarding socialism and the systemic failure in our education system…”

12:00: Trevor Loudon remarks that, in the Mosaic Law, the people were guaranteed the right to choose representatives. This is demonstrated clearly in the Bible, especially in Exodus.

12:30: Loudon also indicates that the U.S was founded on the idea that “human rights came directly from God to the people who could then choose representatives to form a government which would protect those rights.”

13:05: Trevor Loudon continues: “Even before the Bolshevik Revolution, American communists and socialists were plotting” to bring America down. One of the very first Communist fronts in America was the Methodist Federation for Social Service (now the Methodist Federation for Social Action). Professor Harry Ward of Union Theological Seminary co-founded it alongside members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1907. The Bolshevik Revolution did not begin until 1917, a decade later.

13:46: Trevor Loudon’s friend Herbert Romerstein is quoted as saying that the“easiest people to manipulate were Protestant pastors.” Dr. Paul Kengor, author of Dupes: How America’s Adversaries Have Manipulated Progressives for a Century, puts it this way: “Herb Romerstein, the veteran investigator of the communist movement, and himself a former communist, when asked which group of Americans was most manipulated by communists, unhesitatingly answered ‘liberal Protestant pastors.’ He called them ‘the biggest suckers of them all.’”

16:59: During 1960’s and ’70’s, Western Christianity (especially American Christianity) was largely subverted by social justice ideologues, and that subversion started in campus radical Leftist movements. Jon Harris’s first book on the subject, entitled Social Justice Goes to Church, is an excellent resource which demonstrates the veracity of this claim from cover to cover.

17:13: Richard Mouw was radicalized in college and he began to walk away from faith. However, he read “Uneasy Conscience of Modern Fundamentalism” by Carl F. H. Henry (professor of Philosophy of Religion at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary)— and he identified a path to incorporate New Leftism with a “Christian” framework.

17:29: Fuller Theological Seminary, a premiere institution for neo-evangelicalism, changed its focus from Biblical theology to theology devoted to the transformation of social structures in the vein of Richard Mouw’s theology. Again, Harris’s book documents this with precision.

18:08: Quote from Chicago Declaration: “We must attack the materialism of our culture and the maldistribution of the nation’s wealth and services. We recognize that as a nation we play a crucial role in the imbalance and injustice of international trade and development. Before God and a billion hungry neighbors, we must rethink our values regarding our present standard of living and promote a more just acquisition and distribution of the world’s resources.”

19:18– Leftism in Christianity was an academic elitist movement. They are now teaching during the era of the “Moral Majority.” The New Leftists taught at places like Wheaton College, Fuller Theological Seminary, and the next generation of academics and pastors were taught at their feet.

19:47: Jim Simpson: “Now the communist goal is to overthrow every government and run the world. We are its main competitor. Christianity had to be discredited, undermined, smeared, and utterly destroyed.”

20:23: Starting around the 1920’s (after the Soviet revolution in Russia), communists started infiltrating seminaries. They targeted various religious orders, including the Franciscans, Benedictines, and primarily Jesuits (source in the next timestamp citation.)

20:56: Bella Dodd- member of American Communist Party in the 1930’s and she was involved in teachers unions in New York. She spoke about bringing 1100 Communists into the Catholic Church. According to Church Militant: “Von Hildebrand shared with us the story of one Bella Dodd, a Communist agent with the American Communist Party from 1927–49. Dodd eventually converted to the Catholic faith under the direction of Abp. Fulton Sheen and became friends with the von Hildebrands. Here is what Alice told us that Dodd told her and her husband in 1965: ‘Stalin, soon after he came to power, ordered his cronies to invade Catholic seminaries … with young men that had neither faith nor morals. Now … the ideal cases: homosexual. Obviously, you don’t suppose that someone … well, it’s much more complicated, you know, to have an affair with a woman. But if you’re a homosexual, and then it was a tragic mission … . [Dodd] declared publicly — I repeat, publicly — that in the course of the 20 years of activities for the Communists, she recruited some 1,100 young men.’”

21:12: By the time Dodd got out, many of those young communists raised to the rank of Bishop and Cardinal. As Michael Voris writes in the article regarding the interview with Dr. von Hildebrand: “Eleven hundred Communist plants who were homosexual over the space of roughly 20 years could create massive chaos in the Church by the time they would “mature” in their priesthoods. Of 1,100 men, surely a good number would have advanced to bishops, archbishops and even cardinals. And their primary role would have been to recruit the next generation of men for the seminaries… Does this explain… the massive, near-sudden acceptance of homosexuality among the clergy over the past 20 or so years? It’s hard to argue against such a conclusion. In fact, nearly very aberration and evil, every horrible catechesis, every abuse-ridden Mass, every gay music director, liturgy director youth director, every sordid homosexual affair, every busted gay bishop and cardinal, every case of child molestation by priests, bishops and cardinals, every open embrace of the sodomite agenda in the Church these days, all of it is easily explained by this simple hypothesis.”

21:46: Communist Front/Socialist Front: an organization that purports to do one thing but has a significant number of Leftist leaders to push a Marxist agenda. According to an  article published in the University of Pennsylvania Law Review: “Because the Communist movement cannot attain all its goals through the single instrumentality of the Communist Party, it frequently resorts to the use of organizations which operate under Communist instruction, but are not openly associated with the Communist Party or the Communist movement. 22:30: Quote from an official of the atheist communist Chinese Academy of Social Sciences: “We studied everything we could from the historical, political, economic, and cultural perspective. At first, we thought it was because you had more powerful guns than we had. Then, we thought it was because you had the best political system. Next, we focused on your economic system. But in the past 20 years, we’ve realized that the heart of your culture is your religion: Christianity. That is why the West is so powerful. The Christian moral foundation of cultural and social life was what made possible the emergence of capitalism, and then the successful transition to Democratic politics. We do not have any doubt about this.”

It is a rational study of the being of God in the world in light of the existential situation of an oppressed community, relating the forces of liberation to the essence of the gospel, which is Jesus Christ. 59:15: Robert Lopez rightly notes that the gay community has a lot of abuse. For example, there is a significantly higher amount of dating violence among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and especially transgender youth, per Dank (et al.). Moreover, pedophilic offenders against children are significantly more likely to be homosexual than a random person selected out of the population, per the findings of Freund and Watson. Around 1 in 20 of the population is estimated to be homosexual (which is a liberal estimate); however, for every 2 sexual offenders that have abused a female child, there is 1 sexual offender who has abused a male child. Homosexuals, then, are disproportionately overrepresented in sexual offenses against children.

Tim Keller took that to heart. He listened to the lecture by Tom Skinner at Urbana 70 where he made this argument multiple times, he said it changed his world. 1:52:49: Phil Haney notes that the terms Chrislam, interfaith dialogue, and “Common Word” refer to the same thing: religious pluralism between “Abrahamic faiths” that ultimately leads to the conclusion that the God of Christianity and the “allah” of Islam are one and the same God.

1:52:56: The phrase “Common Word” comes from Qur’an 3:64: “Come, now let us find a common word between you and us, that we all worship Allah, that he has no partners, and that he who turns aside is not a good Muslim.” Moreover, it is explicitly not about mere agreements between Christians and Muslims; rather, it is about persuading Christians to assent to Islam. From Ala-Maududi, “the invitation here is for the two parties to agree on something believed in by one of them, the Muslims, and the soundness of which could hardly be denied by the other party, the Christians.”
